The Cybertruck still doesn't exist, and now, its only existing vestige has been recalled.

The Cyberquad was originally built as an accessory for the as-yet-unreleased futuristic Tesla Cybertruck. The little quad bike also has a smaller companion- one built for kids. It appears that can't escape the recalls plaguing both Tesla and the auto industry, as the licensed producers of the toy, Radio Flyer, have revealed. Atv Electric

As with cars and the NHTSA, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued the recall for around 5,000 of the kid's toys because the electric bike "fails to comply with the federal mandatory safety standard requirements for youth ATVs."

The Commission cites two concerns: both the Cyberquad's suspension and its maximum tire pressures. The CSPC has found that "the Cyberquad lacks a CPSC-approved ATV action plan, which is required to manufacture, import, sell, or distribute ATVs."

These plans include safety requirements like rider training, dissemination of safety information, age recommendations, and other safety concerns.

We're not sure how Tesla skirted around this, if it was intentional, or how long Tesla has been in violation. However, Radio Flyer says that it is aware of an accident involving an eight-year-old rider and a 36-year-old female.

Per the recall, "the single-rider Cyberquad tipped over when driven by an eight-year-old child and a 36-year-old adult female, resulting in a bruised left shoulder to the adult female." Thankfully, the incident sounds very minor, and no others have been reported at the time of publishing.

Buyers can get a refund by removing the quad's motor controller and sending the unit back to Radio Flyer. Removing the controller also means the bike can't be ridden, and Cyberquad owners will get $50 to cover the costs of disposal on top of the bike's original $1,900 asking price.

Thankfully, Radio Flyer offers directions to remove the controller on its website. All 5,000 affected quads will have their owners contacted directly by Radio Flyer as part of notification for the recall.
